Hey, I’m Thibault — from (re)build, based in Brussels.
My background is economics and business, but my career has been anything but linear. Nanotechnology, trade with Asia, market intelligence for global corporations, even launching a fast-casual restaurant concept around Belgian food. I’ve always been drawn to building things from scratch.
A few years ago, I started working in sustainable construction materials. That’s when it hit me.
The built environment is responsible for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions. It destroys biodiversity, generates mountains of waste, depletes raw materials, and affects the air we breathe at home and at work — every single day. And yet the sector remains deeply fragmented, digitally behind, and resistant to change.
The scale of the problem is uncomfortable. But so is the opportunity.
I believe the convergence of circular economy principles and new technologies can fundamentally shift how we design, build, and dismantle our built environment. Not gradually — structurally.
That belief is why I created (re)build.
This is a place for everyone working in construction who suspects there’s a better way — and wants to find the others. The practitioners, the suppliers, the researchers, the disruptors. The more of us there are in the same room, the faster things move.
I’m here to connect the dots, the people, share what I learn, and build this community with you to shift towards the circular economy together.
